MK-677 Nutrobal/Ibutamoren functions as an agonist of the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor. This means that it mimics the growth hormone (GH)-stimulating action of the endogenous hormone ghrelin.

MK-677 (Nutrobal/Ibutamoren) was created as a potential treatment for reduced levels of growth hormone and IGF-1, such as in children or elderly adults with a growth hormone deficiency and human studies have shown it to increase both muscle mass and bone mineral density, making it a promising potential therapy for the treatment of frailty in the elderly.

MK-677 and SARMS:

Despite its classification as a growth hormone secretagogue, MK-677 is often associated with selective androgen receptor modulators, or SARMs, due to the similar effects observed in animal, pre-clinical, and clinical studies.

However, it’s crucial to note that MK-677 is not a SARM. SARMs function by binding to androgen receptors, primarily in muscle and bone tissues, while Ibutamoren, as mentioned earlier, has the potential to mimic ghrelin’s actions in the brain.

In terms of its effects, Ibutamoren belongs to the family of growth hormone-releasing peptides, alongside compounds like Hexarelin, GHRP-2, and GHRP-6. MK-677 attaches to the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor to stimulate the release of growth hormone.

One significant advantage of MK-677 not being a SARM is that SARMs can potentially affect natural androgen production, leading to lowered testosterone levels. As a result, researchers must exercise caution when administering SARMs to study subjects. In contrast, MK-677 does not require the same level of precaution.

Dosage and administration:
